For many years, Waweru Wa Nyambura has been a familiar face and voice in Kenyan homes. However, an era has come to an end. In a surprising live announcement, Waweru shared that he is officially leaving the station to start a new chapter in his life.

Here is a look at his amazing journey through the media, his achievements, and where he is heading next.

How Waweru Joined the Media

Waweru Wa Nyambura did not become a household name overnight. His passion for storytelling began years ago. He joined the media industry with a simple goal: to give a voice to ordinary citizens and tell stories that matter to local communities.

His hard work caught the eye of Royal Media Services management. RMS is the biggest media house in Kenya, known for top stations like Citizen TV, Inooro TV, and Inooro FM. Joining RMS was a dream come true for Waweru. He started from the bottom, working as a reporter on the ground, gathering news, and learning the ropes of broadcast journalism.

Years of Hard Work and Success at Inooro TV

Waweru spent years polishing his skills. Because of his excellent command of the Kikuyu language and his deep understanding of politics, he quickly moved up the ranks.

He became the host of Kiririmbi, a popular Sunday evening political show. Under his leadership, Kiririmbi changed. It moved from a quiet studio setting to a live, on-ground broadcast. This allowed ordinary citizens to look their leaders in the eye and ask tough questions about development, economy, and leadership.

Throughout his time at RMS, Waweru was known for:

Being fearless: He never shied away from asking tough questions.

Being professional: He balanced heated political debates with fairness.

Connecting with people: He made complex political topics easy for everyday viewers to understand.

The Big Announcement: Resigning Live on Air

Every journey has a destination, and Waweru chose a unique moment to announce his exit.

During a live broadcast of the Kiririmbi show in Nyandarua County, Waweru broke the news to his fans. The show was happening live from Ol Kalou, specifically in Mugumoini village. On that day, Waweru was hosting the Nyandarua County Senator, John Methu (popularly known as Senator Kaba Methu).

Right there on the ground, surrounded by a live audience, Waweru announced that he was ending his long tenure at Royal Media Services. He thanked his fans, his colleagues, and the RMS management for the support they had given him over the many years he worked there.

Before saying his final goodbye, Waweru assured his viewers that the show was in safe hands. He officially handed over the leadership of the Kiririmbi show to Muriuki Mucoki, another highly respected and renowned journalist at Inooro TV.

Muriuki Mucoki is well-known to the audience and is expected to bring his own fresh energy while keeping the show as engaging as it has always been.

What is Next for Waweru Wa Nyambura?

Waweru is not retiring from work; he is simply changing his "office."

Instead of sitting in air-conditioned studios or chasing politicians for interviews, Waweru revealed that his next assignment will take him directly to the grassroots level. He wants to work closely with ordinary citizens on the ground, with a major focus on interacting with farmers.

Agriculture is the backbone of Kenya, and Waweru’s move shows he wants to use his skills to empower local farmers, understand their challenges, and help grow the agricultural community.

We wish Waweru Wa Nyambura all the best in his new journey!
