A three-day-old baby girl is now safe after being found in the Simbara area of Nyandarua, following a quick response from a Good Samaritan and a local team that stepped in to protect her.
The baby, referred to as Baby X, was reportedly found on Saturday. A kind-hearted community member took her in and provided care and shelter over the weekend before a team led by Betty Muchina, Benson Mureithi and Hannah Munene intervened.
The team ensured that the newborn was safely transported to a secure home where she could continue receiving the care and protection she needs.
Nyandarua Woman Representative Faith Wairimu Gitau shared the update, expressing gratitude to the community member who protected the baby and to the team that responded to the situation.
The latest development comes as the county continues to see attention drawn to cases involving vulnerable children. It also follows an earlier case reported in Nyandarua involving a girl who was rescued after suffering sexual abuse and becoming pregnant.
