Betty Maina Launches Scathing Attack on Rigathi Gachagua During Facebook Live
Murang’a County Woman Representative Betty Njeri Maina has sparked political debate after launching a fierce verbal attack against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua during a Facebook Live broadcast.
Maina used strong and highly disparaging language while addressing Gachagua, repeatedly mentioning his name while delivering a series of insults and taunts directed at the former Deputy President.
Among the words attributed to her were:
“Gachagua, takataka.”
She also used the Kikuyu phrase:
“Kindiria na kama gaku.”
In the context of her remarks, the phrase was rendered as “Kaa na chama yako”, meaning “Stay with your party.”
Maina went on to describe Gachagua as:
“Bure kabisa.”
She also said:
“Na mlete matusi.”
At another point, she appeared to challenge Gachagua over his political supporters, saying:
“Tafutia vijana wako ma bibi.”
She then again directly addressed:
“Gachagua.”
Political Temperatures Rise
The remarks come at a time when political competition around the Mount Kenya region remains intense, with Gachagua continuing to be a prominent figure in national political debates.
Maina’s latest comments are likely to generate reactions from political leaders, Gachagua’s supporters and social-media users.
The remarks were made during a Facebook Live broadcast, with clips of the incident also circulating online.
