Mwangi Kiunjuri Takes Aim at Rigathi Gachagua
Laikipia East Member of Parliament Mwangi Kiunjuri has criticised Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of repeatedly attacking other leaders while failing to clearly explain what he wants to achieve for Kenyans.
“Rigathi Gachagua is someone who likes hitting people below the belt all the time.”
“And you know how it is said that a mad person has no modesty—until they see another mad person. Then they realize, ‘Oh, this person is crazy.’ I know he realizes there's a barrier in front of him, that someone equally mad has arrived.”
“Gachagua used to walk ahead of people bragging. He used to sit back and watch people get angry, including those who were trying to reason with him. Himself, Rigathi, his big story was boasting about his own house.”
“Starting from that circumcision ceremony he held for young men, right? The clean circumcision ceremonies that were done, he turned them into ‘Rigathi Gachagua.’ Issues that were affecting Matiba's family, issues that were affecting Matiba himself when he was alive— he made it his whole narrative, going around talking about other people's affairs, filled with boastfulness and vanity.”
“The only things he accomplished were hitting people. He went to Laikipia and spent 17 minutes speaking—14 of those minutes were just insults. The remaining three minutes were spent talking about other trivial matters.”
“Rigathi has never told us what he wants to achieve or what he is doing for Kenyans. Yet those are the things that would make people follow his vision—not insults, yeah, and not constant boasting and lecturing other leaders.”
“I haven't dismissed Rigathi. If Rigathi were coming from a place of life and godliness, I would leave him to God. But if he is coming from a place of malice, I will leave him to the devil.”
“I'm not following him around, yeah? And our people, I know we are standing firm, knowing what we want and what we are standing for. But whenever I watch Rigathi speak, all you see is anger in him. A leader filled with anger. I'm not even talking about Gachagua because I'm angry; I'm not angry.”
