Chaos and Comedy: MMU Students Troll GSU Officers After Strike Postpones Exams

Multimedia University (MMU) is trending once again, and as usual, comrade power is unmatched. What was supposed to be a serious, tension-filled Monday morning of end-of-semester exams quickly devolved into a chaotic mix of fury and, frankly, hilarious internet trolling.

​If you’ve been on socials today, you’ve probably seen the phrase: “Unatutishia na bunduki na unagongewa!” (You're threatening us with a gun, yet someone is sleeping with your partner back home!)

​Here is how a stressful academic broadblock turned into a viral meme fest.

Cramming for Nothing? The Frustration is Real
​Let’s be honest: nobody likes exam season. 

But MMU comrades did due diligence. They spent the entire weekend locked in their rooms or hovering around the library, burning the midnight oil, drinking coffee, and cramming months of content.

​They woke up today ready to face the papers, only to find empty exam halls. No papers. No supervisors. Why? The lecturers and university staff are officially on strike.
​While a cancelled exam might sound like a dream to some, the reality is a nightmare for most—especially the third-year students.

Enter the GSU—and the Savage Trolling
​As tension escalated on campus, the General Service Unit (GSU) officers were deployed to maintain order and disperse the gathering crowds of frustrated students.

​But instead of running for cover, MMU comrades did what Kenyan university students do best: they weaponized sarcasm.

​Recognizing that physical confrontation against armed officers is a losing battle, students resorted to emotional damage. They began chanting and shouting brutally personal insults at the heavily armed officers, mocking their demanding jobs and long deployments away from home.

​The viral highlight of the day? “Unatutishia na bunduki na unagongewa!”

​The savage chant suggests that while the officers are busy standing in the sun holding guns to intimidate students, someone else is back at their homes entertaining their partners.
