Kenyan gospel singer Florence Njoroge, popularly known for her hit song Ihiga Ria Koine, has broken her silence after months away from the public and revealed the difficult experiences that affected her music career and social media presence.
In a message to her fans, Florence apologised to everyone who had been waiting for new music and explained why she suddenly went quiet.
According to the singer, the past few months have been difficult for her both personally and as an artist. She said she lost access to several of her social media accounts, including her YouTube channel, after her Google account was compromised.
She said the breach spread to other connected platforms, where her details were allegedly changed, private information accessed and her identity misused online.
Florence also revealed that she suffered serious financial losses through what she described as unauthorised access and transactions. She said the situation became even more painful because she also faced cyberbullying and what she described as false accusations.
The singer said some of the accusations involved high-profile individuals who had shown massive support during the launch of Ihiga Ria Koine.
She explained that the situation became so overwhelming that she even considered giving up on her YouTube channel because of the damage she felt had been done to her name.
Florence further said that despite the success of Ihiga Ria Koine, she has never personally benefited from the song as expected. According to her, money was withdrawn and accounts were changed during the period she was struggling with the loss of access.
However, the difficult period has also inspired new music.
Florence has announced a new song titled Ngai wa Wiingi, which she says was born out of everything she experienced during the difficult period.
She described the song as a reflection of her pain, questions, tears and the realisation that she was never truly alone.
“Ngai wa Wiingi” will be released through her new YouTube channel, Flozzyjohnthebrand, after she decided to start again and continue her music journey.
Florence said efforts are still ongoing with the relevant authorities to recover her old YouTube channel, which contains her previous music, including Ihiga Ria Koine. However, she said there is no guarantee that the old channel will be restored.
Rather than wait, she has chosen to rebuild her presence from the ground up and has asked her supporters to subscribe to her new channel and continue supporting her music.
She also warned fans to be careful about fake accounts and individuals who may ask for money or make statements in her name.
Florence thanked everyone who remained patient and continued believing in her during her silence.
She said her absence was not because she had abandoned music, but because she was dealing with battles that many people could not see.
“I am still here. And I am coming back stronger, with music born from everything I survived,” Florence said in her message.
With the upcoming release of Ngai wa Wiingi, the Ihiga Ria Koine hit maker is now looking forward to a fresh start and another chapter in her music career.
